Bereavement

Children & young people will deal with unexpected and unwelcome change in many different ways. Talking with children about death is always uncomfortable and can be more difficult when children have special educational needs or disabilities.

We also need to think about the emotional resilience of staff and other adults who may be offering support. They may also be touched by the bereavement or it may remind them of other personal or professional trauma's.
